Position Overview: Signal Co. No1 is seeking a talented and motivated content creator to join our dynamic social media team. In this role, you will support our digital communications efforts by crafting engaging social content that promotes our podcasts, principles, and other initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Social Media, this position offers an invaluable role in a mission-driven organization.
Compensation: This is a part-time, 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension. The role pays $20-$25/hour, depending on experience, for a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Concepting & Curating Content
- Produce and edit engaging original content centered on specific social justice issues (such as criminal justice reform, the war on drugs, visibility and awareness of chronic illnesses) and aligned with our clients’ missions.
- Source clips from our orginal podcast interviews and from third parties social accounts for reposting, identifying high-quality clips to enhance content and engage audiences.
- Obtain necessary permissions for using third-party content when required.
- Edit and format clips for optimal social media use.
- Ensure all video content aligns with brand guidelines and quality standards.
- Assist in the development, creation, and maintenance of a regular newsletter.
Creating Posts
- Create, upload, and schedule social media posts using Metricool & Meta Business Suite
- Write compelling copy, adjust post formats, and optimize content for each platform.
Building the Content Calendar
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar to deliver timely and consistent content.
- Collaborate with the Director of Social Media to align the calendar with overall marketing strategies and campaigns.
Building & Researching Content Strategy
- Assist in developing and refining content strategies that align with brand goals and audience interests.
- Leverage user insights from community management to fuel content ideas.
- Provide new content ideas to the team based on community management insights, real-time trends, competitive audits, industry trends, and past performance.
About You:
- 1-3+ years of experience in creative social media content and community management.
- Skilled in video editing with a keen awareness of social media trends.
- Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and content best practices.
- Proficient writer, capable of engaging multiple audiences and adopting various brand voices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate empathetically and concisely.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to measure and interpret the impact of community management and content posts, using data to optimize efforts.
- Available to work at least 3 hours per day during normal business hours (9-5 pm EST).
- Comfortable behind the camera for potential TikTok or Instagram Reels needs.
- Passionate about social justice and dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices.
